Terms of Use
Last updated 21 September 2026. In short: the app computes the almanac as carefully as it can, but your decisions remain your own, results can differ or be mistaken, and your details stay on your device.
1. Agreeing to these terms
Panchangam (“the app”, including this website) is published by Unique Creations (“we”, “us”). By using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. What the app is
The app is a Hindu almanac produced by computation. It combines a modern planetary ephemeris — the astronomy of where the Sun, Moon and planets are — with the rules and methods of traditional reckoning, and works out times for the place you set. It shows what those methods give; it does not predict events, and it is not a source of certainty about the future.
It is offered for information, education and cultural and religious guidance only. It is not medical, health, legal, financial, psychological or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified priest, astrologer or other professional.
3. Your decisions are your own
Whatever the app shows — a good time, a time to avoid, a date for a wedding or a journey, a star or a match — you decide what to do with it, and you are solely responsible for your decisions and their results.
A time shown as auspicious is not a promise that anything will go well, and a time shown as one to avoid is not a warning that anything will go wrong. Nothing in the app can protect you from illness, injury, accident, loss or any other event — including a medical emergency — and nothing in it should ever delay or replace getting medical help, emergency services or professional advice. In an emergency, act at once, whatever the almanac says.
For important occasions, a qualified priest or astrologer should confirm the date: they check things the app does not, as it explains on the pages concerned.
4. Calculations can differ, and can be wrong
The app is computed carefully and checked against reference sources, but it is software built on scientific data and traditional methodologies, and at any time there is a chance of error. Results can differ from another almanac or from what you expected because of a different tradition, method or ayanamsa; the place, date or time entered; data or rounding limits; a defect in the software; or a misreading or misinterpretation of what is shown — by the app or by the reader.
Different families and regions follow different rules, and the app cannot follow all of them at once. Where it knows traditions differ it says so, but it cannot guarantee that any result matches the practice you follow.
5. No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, availability or freedom from errors. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, timely or free of defects.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unique Creations and its owners, members, partners, employees, contractors and affiliates shall not be liable for any loss or harm of any kind arising from, or connected with, your use of the app or your reliance on anything it shows — whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive, and including personal injury, illness or death, emotional distress, financial loss, loss of opportunity, a missed or unsuccessful event, or loss of data.
Where the law does not allow liability to be excluded entirely, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
7. Holding us harmless
You agree not to hold Unique Creations, or any of the people named in section 6, responsible for decisions you make or outcomes that follow from using the app, and to indemnify them against claims by others that arise from your use of the app or your breach of these terms, to the extent the law allows.
8. Your data, and backing it up
Birth details — yours, your family’s, and those of loved ones you remember for a shraddha — together with your gender and gothram, are kept only on your device, encrypted. We never receive them and hold no copy, so we cannot recover them for you if they are lost. Deleting the app deletes them.
Keeping them safe is therefore up to you. On an iPhone, a device backup (iCloud or a computer) includes the app’s data, and “Offload App” in Settings › General › iPhone Storage removes the app while keeping its data, so reinstalling brings it back. Because the details are encrypted to your device, a backup restored to a different phone may not be able to read them — keep your own note of the dates and times that matter to you. You are responsible for your backups and for choosing whether to delete the app.
What the app does store with your account, and what it sends where, is set out on the privacy page.
9. Purchases
Anything bought in the app is bought through the app store you use, on that store’s terms, including its terms for refunds. A purchase is a one-time payment that opens every date; it is not a subscription, and nothing renews.
10. Using the app fairly
Please do not misuse the app: do not try to disrupt it, gain access to parts of it or to data you are not entitled to, or copy and resell its content as your own. We may suspend access for misuse.
11. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
